1-time class

Class Cost: $50 

Each ticket includes up to four individuals

Are you interested in getting your own "backyard" animals? Don't know where to start??

Come to one of Critter Barn's Backyard Series Classes and learn from knowledgeable staff and community members!

​

Each class is a 2-hour long course. This class is geared towards adults, but families are encouraged to attend together!

Class Topics & Dates:

Rabbits

Saturday, April 20th - 9:00-11:00 am​
Have you ever wanted to raise a rabbit? Learn the housing needed for indoor versus outdoor, what feed is recommended, and how to provide the best care possible. The second half of the class will cover raising meat rabbits and different processing techniques (this is optional). Critter Barn's rabbits will be available for purchase at the end of class.

Poultry

Saturday, May 11th - 9:00-11:00 am

Join us for a 2-hour class focusing on the basics of keeping your backyard egg layers, broilers, turkeys, or waterfowl! We will learn about breeds, feed, and the "dos and don'ts". Breakout sessions will be provided for egg layers versus meat birds.

 

OPTIONAL - If you would like this class to include your own chicks to take home, call the office 2 weeks before the class and we will order them for you!

Goats

Saturday, May 25th - 9:00-11:00 am

We're not kidding! This class is all about goats and four-legged kids! Take this class to learn all the interesting facts about raising goats for pets, dairy, or show.

Honey Bees

Saturday, June 1st - 9:00-11:00 am

Join us at the Critter Barn to learn all the basics about keeping your own hive! We'll cover everything from hive equipment to harvesting honey. Experience firsthand the bees that live at the farm while learning from a real beekeeper!
